A short(ish) update.

Een dosage - decided to go with 0.1ml / 7-days, which equates to 5mg/day (50mg/ml concentration). A few weeks in and my breasts seem to be constantly sore, just need to squash them / bump into something and I feel it. Obviously need a few more weeks on this before I know if it feels right, I may consider lowering it to 0.8ml (=4mg/day) as a trial as that equates to the 4mg f progynova that I was on previously, but will see.

As per the reasons for starting this post, I've decided that it's been more than long enough diy'ing so decided to see if the NHS can support and monitor me.

The first step was to tell my hospital doc, simply because I see him every quarter as he does comprehensive bloods each quarter for a long standing condition I live with. This happened to be a couple of weeks back, and pleased to see that (heart, kidneys, liver, renal, cholesterol, etc) are all good Smile  He always asks me about my diet and lifestyle to make sure I'm staying health, after which I fessed-up to him - I've been on E for 2-years !!!
This resulted in a right rollocking from him for not telling him or my GP !!!
Interestingly though, once I told him that I wasn't transitioning he then started discussing how E could quite likely help with all my ailments and although he had never heard of someone using E & AA to  supress the effects of T and not transition, he decided to add hormone checks to my quarterly blood checks. He also reminded me that he sends an update letter to my GP after each check-up so reckoned it would be best to tell my GP before the letter lands! So on the whole a really interesting and positive result Smile

My GP appointment is due this week, and I'm approaching this with some trepidation as its been about four years since I last saw him and I have zero idea of his thoughts on diy'ing HRT?
Worst case scenario - he dismisses my reasoning and simply adds me to the 5-yr pysch evaluation / gender clinic waiting list, of which I am 100% adamant  I don't need, as I have no gender questions at all.
Best case scenario - he listens and puts me on a bridging prescription (UK way of getting meds while waiting for xyz)

If he does listen, I'd like to talk to him about:

- Dutatseride - for hair loss and its AA effects

- Oestrgel - UK docs do not like patients on injectables due to their supposedly fear of increased risk of clots, so he will most likely want me to do gel instead of injections

- Orchi - My route problem is how T badly affects, so taking AA & E is really just papering over the cracks so to speak. Whereas an orchi would remove the source of the problem and negate the AA and allow for a lower dose of E. However, it seems that there is next to no chance of getting an elective orchi done here in the UK on the NHS, damn! Privately it's circa £5K if you can get referred. But it's a topic of discussion if he is willing to listen.

Interesting week ahead me thinks....

Hi,

I have a very simular problem, so I will be watching this with interest, I am doing HRT through a UK based company and so far its going well, if you look at my thread HRT Update you can see what I have been up to.

Like you I will eventually have to tell me GP, not looking forward to that it is a rubbish doctors.

As you alos are based in the UK google Eden New Life https://www.edennew.life/

Looks expensive but when you look into it the prices are fair.

For example I get 6 packs of Oestrogel, including postatge it cost £100.20, including in the fees are 24 hour support and prescription.

Have a look but I will be watching your future posts.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for the support and will post what happens later in the week!

I've looked at them before and yes prices-wise they do look ok, however, I've dismissed them for a few reasons, but mainly as I have no intention to transition as such I'd say lots of others are far more in need of their service than I am.

I'm probably also a bit too far down the road to justify going with them so unsure what added value I'd get as:
- I already have 24-months of Een & injection supplies (c.£150)
- I get free full blood tests at 56 Dean Street (OK its London but I can get there from up north for c.£30 return including the tube booked in advance)

Interestingly, now my hospital doc is interested he will be checking my hormones every quarter as well, which may negate trips to the big smoke Smile

Telling my GP is really just about squaring the circle I guess, so at least he knows what's going on. Granted it would be good if he exercises his duty of care and takes me onboard, actually he is legally bound to do so, but we all know how variable this is when it comes to hormones!

If he does then he should provide blood test and bridging prescriptions.

If he doesn't at least he knows and I'll stick with my current plan, as I reckon it is a more than adequate safeguard, along with being a lot cheaper hehe:
- Een injections (plus topical regime)
- quarterly hormone checks at 56 Dean St / my hospital doc
- life-long quarterly blood / health checks by my hospital doc

Granted, if I didn't get my quarterly hospital checks I would be far more inclined to go private with someone like Eden as messing with your hormones is serious stuff!

I'll let you know what happens with the doc, fingers crossed he'll be like my hospital doc LOL

Well, it was judgement day with my GP today, oh my gosh!!

Turned out that there was no reason for any trepidation at all, OK, as expected got the 'you should be self prescribing drugs from online pharmacies, you just cant know for sure what you are taking...' talk!

He listened to my reasoning, took lots of notes, admired that at least I wasn't doing it totally blind with having quarterly bloods at the hospital and did a hormone check at the gender clinic in London.

Surprisingly, he never mentioned gender, or psychiatric assessments, however, did admitted that he had absolutely no experience with men taking female hormones, but definitely was there to help and get me under proper HNS care.

As such he has booked me in for (another) full blood test including hormones etc and has done a referral to the endocrinologists today, which he reckons going off the women he refers, is typically a 2~3-month wait.

I know the NHS is in an absolute state but seriously I can't fault them for the care I get.

So all in all  another surprising and pleasing outcome Smile

In general, doctors are professionals and treat every patient with due respect, even ER doctors who deal with some bizarre things, not much can suprise a doctor or nurse, their number one objective is to keep us healthy, sounds like he has you on the right track.

Tomi66 I completely agree, however in the UK lots of docs are not well informed about what we do, as such different docs respond differently.
But yes, mine definitely does care Smile

Though time for a quick update, with pics..

Had a good few weeks now on Een 1ml/5mg/day weekly injections and all going well. Have reduced/dropped a lot of my other stuff and replaced these with a version of Lotus/Heaven's Night topical regime  Hug along with 1/4 tab of Finetride, a womens 50+ multi-vit and egcg caps.

Breasts - definitely feeling fuller and constantly tender, developing a nice shape and thankfully staying the same overall size at 39" under 43" over. They are essentially a B-cup which is as big as I want!
Nipple / areolas - On some days they seem noticeably bigger but then revert to my normal boy looking sizes which is a pain as ideally I'd like them to be bigger to be natural woman looking.
Lower half curves - looks like the fat redistribution is getting under way as my butt, thighs and bum certainly look and feel just that bit more curvy.

Goals as a male staying male
- B-cup female shaped with female sized nipples and areolas
- lose another ideally 8~10kg
- develop a more defined lower half female shaped curves

Potential regime changes:
- swap fin for duta to see if I can better arrest my typical male baldness
- adding pukka P4 progesterone caps
- research more msm, hgh and amino acids - following Heaven's Night posts and ideas Smile

Other developments
Just been referred by my GP so waiting for my first appointment at a local endo, however, I've no idea what to expect so just hoping they have some experience of men on E and not just fob me off to the stupidly long gender clinic waiting list. The referral said they are running on about a 3~4 month waiting list so will just wait and see.

Nice progress.  They look very round and firm.

Thanks Mashtenn,

The biggest change I'm seeing is not by the measuring tape, its the fullness and shape. Ideally, I'd like them NOT to grow any bigger but would like them to continue rounding off and firming up.
Hopefully, my areolas will wake up soon and start enlarging to be more fem sized as I still think they look very man sized Sad as they are currently.

My main focus is lower body feminisation so continuing with the topical regime applied mostly to the lower half.
