Hello, there seems to be a lot of different programs for HRT. From Oestrogel to pills to injections etc. I was wondering about Estrofem if anybody had luck with it and is it as safe as other types. I'm 60 years old and want something that works better then NBE. Been doing this for 4 years now with PM and BO on and off with some good results. I acquired some Estrofem 2mg 3 months supply and was hoping it would work.

I was on estrofem for a while before starting injections. It works fine, take it sublingual or buccal, that way you get a lot better absorbtion and partially skip liver metabolism. Estrofem is estradiol hemihydrate if I remember correctly? That type is used in gels too and it acts fast, so the pills will give a lot of ups and downs with levels. I suggest splitting your dose to two or three times a day to keep levels as stable as possible.

Above 4mg is where the dose will start to work well. For me 2mg and 4mg did next to nothing, but upping to 6mg was spot on. Pills can't ever beat injection on stability, but its easy, just let the pill dissolve below your tongue and that's it. Estrofem is also micronised so it absorbs way better. Stuff like Progynova are meant to be taken orally so they're not as good. The reason why you want to absorb as much as possible without liver metabolism is higher concentration of estradiol in your blood, liver metabolism can boost estriol quite a bit and as over all feminising estrogen, it isn't as awesome, but some people get really good breast development when there's enough estriol.

So yea, Estrofem is nice, 2mg is a small dose and isn't likely to give big changes quickly. Split the pill in two and take morning + evening to avoid too much level spiking and crashing.

Thanks Heaven's Night you are always very helpful and I have enjoyed reading your posts over the years. Both you and Lotus have helped a lot. These are really small blue pills and kinda hard to cut into unless I use some small snips. I didn't know they would dissolve under the tongue so I will try that. I'm hoping to get to at least a B size instead of just an A. I was going to use RM for an AA since I don't have spirol.
