Using BO in addition to HRT?

#11

(21-05-2025, 03:47 PM)Is adding Fenugreek (Swanson Fenugreek Extract (50% saponins)) to HRT (EV, 2 mg every 3.5 days) and Swanson Ovarian Glandular also compatible? Wrote:  Thanks!
I don't think it is? Fenugreek mimics estrogen so it would fight over the HRT (good Estradiol) for limited estrogen receptors in your body?

Really?  I always thought it would offer an assist to HRT.  I guess I'll quite taking it!

Thanks!

Hold on... The speculation about receptor conflicts is flying a bit too high here now. Most of the time there will be no problem taking phytoestrogenic herbs on side of HRT, that's typically a total non issue. Steer clear of PM because of blood clot problems. But others just fenugreek or goat's rue and so on seem to be totally fine. The doses involved aren't supposed to be fistfulls of pills every day, rather taking just enough to get the positive effects.

For example Goat's Rue boosts prolactin levels and can help building breast tissue, it is some times given to expectant mothers who have problems with their milk supply. Doesn't seem to be fucking up their estrogen receptors much does it?

Most of the time it seems that possible receptor conflicts are so minor or non existent that it wont cause any problems growing boobs. I presume much higher doses would be needed for that than any typical supplementation.

Oh really? I was under the notin that phtoestrogenic herbs would impede HRT? If that's the case I may also supplement Fenugreek. Do you know a good dosage for that too?

Most of the time it doesn't seem to be a problem, or that the possible receptor conflict is so minor, it doesn't have any visible effect at all. I think it also depends on which phytoestrogen is taken along with HRT, PM is a total nogo as it can cause blood clots, but others seem to be much safer. At least goat's rue definitely is. And aren't milk thistle, blessed thistle and so on phytoestrogenic too? So are hops and I love hoppy beers, doesn't seem to harm my development one bit.

Dosing fenugreek is something I'm not sure about, but I would guess few grams tops would likely work. For me FG is one of the things that doesn't do anything except it makes me stink so I've avoided it. For dosing advice I guess its good idea to search the forum and online in general.

"Stink", as in smell like maple syrup?  Other types of fenugreek did make my body (sweat?) smell like maple, but the Swanson extract has not done that...
