Cis is the opposite of trans. A cis woman is a genetic female and vice versa for a cis man.

No, its not ridiculous. Its not stupid. It makes sense. Cis as in cissex or cisgender means "those who stay as they are" as opposed to transsex or transgender which is those who change. It has nothing to do with chromosomes or any other biological indicator, it has nothing to do with sex characteristics, its literally just that who stays vs. that who changes.

If you didn't know, its a Latin preposition which is used in a whole lot of meanings, not just this one. It was not invented by transpeople.

Reading and learning ends ignorance.

What "cis" means.

Harvey,
Welcome to BN. The comment wasn't meant for you.

I dabbled with BO and BO blends for a couple years and while I was satisfied with progress, it was painstakingly slow and I was spending a lot of money on supplements and the amount of supplements I was taking was taxing my liver more than an ald recovering alcoholic needs so I switched to HRT, estradiol, about 18 months ago. I am so much more satisfied with how that is working, plus less expensive and I get labs and meds covered by insurance and I get proper medical oversight.

I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you, did you go to your regular dr to start or a specialist? Are you married? Any feedback on how a spouse handles the changes?

I went to Planned Parenthood. My spouse knew my when we met.
From what I have read here, some spouses are ok and support it and some take a while to get used to it and some are against it and it causes marriage issues.

You were ignorant of the term "cis", I gave you an opportunity to learn what it means and where it comes from. Hug Kiss

HN,
Please stop trolling me and don't mansplain to me. I can give all kinds of derogatory terms derived from other words and languages. I prefer to be a called a person or human. You be you and stop worrying about me.
Have a nice day.

I'm sorry, I can't mansplain because I'm no man. I wouldn't even bother to "mansplain" to a cis hetero man because I know its impossible.

Misgendering me is very low. Not that it makes me budge one bit. You're only telling your own story saying such things.  Rolleyes
