This month I have been going back and forth with my herbs, rebooting them and trying to figure them out individually. At first I was taking the recommended dose of PM (500mg 2x a day) with 4000mg SP (2000mg 2x a day). Well it wasn't long before I felt like complete crap, bloated, and trapped at work without energy.
I recently kicked SP out of my plan: the bloating is gone and I have energy, but I also am getting oily hair/skin again
This means that SP was working in one way but I was feeling the side effects big time!!! Chrishoney suggests Pygeum as a replacement, so that's my next adventure... hopefully it works without the bloat!

I cannot seem to get Pygeum without SP - many places sell them combined.

I am very aware that in the herbal market, people will try anything to get results so I research every company and, by preference, I pay through PayPal so I do not have to disclose a credit card number.

I don't use paypal anymore due to being screwed over royally when I sold something on ebay and sent it out to russia. Even though I had proof that everything was sent out, and left the united states, the buyer filed a claim on paypal saying he didnt get it, and paypal magically took $200 out of my account that didn't exist and calls me daily for their money back. I'm not paying somebody 200$ to take my smart phone, and on that principal paypal is no longer an option for me.
Back to the subject though, generally I find Pygeum with SP, but I'm curious as to the levels and dosages that I could take to see results and maybe bypass the bloat. 4000mg of saw palmetto is a lot for normal consumption -- perhaps maybe too much. But if the blend worked at lower doses then maybe I'd be all right.

That is using them as a vendor. I am using them as a buyer.

I agree - that does seem high. I have never been over 2000mg and I am going to cut it back from there

My friend orders his MACA and other herbs from Swanson, but I haven't used them because their products are all gelatin-caps but maybe I will order from them and open the caps.
