Best (most Potent) Brand of SP?

#1

The SP I am currently taking is the Spring Valley Brand from walmart in 450MG caps, but it seems to take High doses to keep the DHT symptoms (Oily skin) gone (2700mg/6 capsules 3x per day) so I'm suspecting that this brand may not be all that potent.

So I'm looking for ones that are more potent (if not the most potent).

The main brands I have seen locally are...

Natures Way (I use RC & FG in this brand)
Wild Harvest
Now (use them for GABA and PABA)
Natures Herbs
Solaray

And one other I cant remember the name of....

so Anyone know what the most potent Brand(s) of SP are?
Or should i just add to the SP with something else extra?

Hello Lenneth
That is the same brand that i use.I normally take around 3-4 a day.I wonder if it could be that you have high androgen levels. I myself have never had much body-facial hair throughout my Life. I also use the Bigelow mint melody spearmint tea.you get it at wal-mart to.what body hair I do have on my arms grows Alot slower when i drink the tea daily. but I cannot really answer your question considering spring valley is all i have ever used. maybe you should try the 160mg extract version from spring valley.it is supposed to be stronger than the whole herb. Good Luck!

I don't know.

I did happen to remember that after a on the job impact injury to "the boys" that 6 days later landed me in the er with a bad infection, that the DR did mention that my body was overcompensating for drastically reduced T production with an excess of DHT and androgen.

could be that that may still be haunting me, I went back to the 2700mg dose last night and the DHT symptom seems to be gone, so perhaps I either just need to keep the SP dose high or add the tea.
(or just get myself on the PM that is due to arrive tomorrow)

I must admit though that before I started taking FG/RC/SP I did have excessively Oilly skin and would get an acne like outbreak every time I shaved my face, those both went away on my 2nd day.

either way I will pick up some of that tea tomorrow and see how it helps, funny thing about that injury is it in part encouraged me to seek to grow breasts, as I have experienced some minor breast development as a result (mostly fat redistribution and changes to my nipples/areolas.)

I am admittedly somewhat eager to see what PM will bring to the table.

Thanks again Diva!

Thought I would post this piece of info i found on a GID info site about SP.
(So it appears lab testing found Saw Palmetto (even in concentrated extract form) to be completely ineffective as an anti-androgen. Saw Palmetto may have an anti-estorgenic effect, but I could not locate any studies. If you're trying to ADD estrogen to your body, and the rumour that is can be an anti-estrogen is true, Saw Palmetto can work against that goal.)
think im done with SP.

I wouldn't Throw SP under a bus so quick, I'd Verify that first.

Ive seen far to many herbalists promoting it as a strong Anti-Androgen to toss it to the side over unconfirmed reports.

I'll see what I can dig up online....

FYI If the report you saw is This One I wouldn't trust it as far as I can throw a Super Walmart Building.

a while back it was well publicized that Hemingways was funded by a Major Pharmaceutical Company....(I forget which one)
