Yes, it is quite common and yes there was a thread on it quite a while ago and I've just spent 20 minutes searching and I can't find it either!

This piccy is from about a year ago when I first noticed it. It come and goes over time and at the moment mine have gone, but about 2 weeks ago it was really quite noticeable.

Dunno what it means but its tempting to think it shows the skin is stretching because of growth underneath!

its a halo! .. no seriously there are glands around the areola that secrete a lubricant like substance when a child is nursing on the nipple. (cowpers glands? will have to check) anywho, its so you dont get chapped nipples sometimes they can turn white and bumpy.

Yes, thats true, but it isn't what we are talking about here.
If you look at my not very good piccy, you'll see that there is a distinctly light coloured continuous band right round the outside of my nipple, with a darker coloured band outside of that makes the whole thing look somewhat like a target!

Yes I've been getting a similar thing, but only the top half of my aereolas, kind of like a half moon, or crown.

Mine come and go, as I said, and yes you're right sometimes itb doesn't go right round.

I'd love to know what it is/what it signifies, other than that something changes( which is in general a good thing (probably!)). However it may just be another of those imponderables like the dark line on the scrotum!
