This is definitely the cheapest way to buy PM! Wow.

#1

I just received my bottle of PM powder in bulk. I have purchased many 100 count bottles of 500mg pills in the past, but had not realized until the other day just how much 500 grams of PM really is. It is a LOT! My math went as follows:

Ainterol PM 100 count bottle, 500 mg per pill:
500 mg = .5 gram
1 bottle = 50 grams or 50,000 mg
Price: about $23 (shipped from USA prices, fastest shipping, takes 3 days for me)

Ainterol PM bulk powder
1 bottle = 500 grams or 500,000 mg!
Price: about $76 (once again, shipped from USA, this added $10 to the cost and shipping was $15)

So, that is equivalent to 10 bottles of 500mg PM pills for about the price of 3. Not bad! I will be buying this way from now on!

Hello Lisia,

How do you like the taste of pm powder? Wink

I would like to note Ainterol's price per pm bottle drops as you buy more in bulk. For example, the 12 bottle shipment costs about $180 (including shipping) when using the 10% discount. The price of each bottle drops to $15 as oppose to the $23 when ordering bottles individually.

Maybe someday I'll switch over to the more economical powder, but in the meantime it's more convenient for me to use capsules.

Even cheaper is liquid extract.

Do you mean that the equivalent dose of the extract is cheaper? I never realized that. I was thinking of switching over to the powder because of the cost, but I wasn't sure it was worth the extra trouble.

Yeah, equivalent dose.

Liquid extract is like thousands of times more concentrated than the stuff they pack into the pills. It's even more concentrated than the dry concentrate.

2-3 drops is approximately the same as 1 Ainteral 500mg cap.

St. Herbs liquid is supposedly about the same. From what I can tell, they use the same process to extract, but different farms. Once you get down to liquid extraction though, source no longer means anything, it just means more or less waste product.

AND. If you can afford the down payment, St. Herbs liquid is the absolute cheapest PM of them all. But that's like IIRC, almost 300 bucks all at once for a huge jug of it.

EDIT: Yeah, $260 USD for a 1 liter jug. 5 liter drum for $950, all the way to TEN 5 liter drums for 6 grand. Not counting any shipping etc. Source: http://www.pueraria-thai.com/pueraria-mi...racted.htm

I can definitely relate to the capsules being much more convenient vs. the bulk powder. However, I am prepared to deal with taking it less conveniently for now, due to the fact that this bulk powder in 10 TIMES cheaper! Big Grin

I have not tasted it directly yet. I only received it this afternoon and have taken my first dose of 1,000 mg mixed into a few ounces of vanilla almond milk. At that rate, I could not notice any taste from the PM at all. It did seem like the PM was having a tough time dissolving into the milk. Perhaps I should have stirred it longer or used a shaker cup like the one I have for protein powder?

I have taken PM on and off for a couple of years now, but have always bought the 500mg capsules until this time. This huge bottle is probably equivalent to the number of 100 count capsule bottles I have ever purchased in total, so for me it was a great deal.

I have always been interested in the extract, but at the same time, I have had great success, IMO, with the powdered form. I am intrigued with the extract though and may try it once this huge bottle of powder runs out.

The only problem I foresee with taking it in non-capsule form is that it would not be convenient at all for me to take it when I am not at home. My last run on capsules was from about Feb - June 2012, and at my peak (about 6 weeks in the middle of that time) I was taking about 3,000 - 4,000 mg per day(I realize this is quite high). This meant that I was taking 2 capsules each upon waking, around lunch, directly after work, and right before bed. I was spacing it out like that to attempt better absorption, and to avoid the dreaded headaches, which I tend to get if I take more than 1,000mg or so at a time. I know that is a very high dose, but at the time I was experiencing very rapid results. I am doubtful that rate of return would be sustainable in the long term, obviously.

With the bulk powder I would either have to find a way to take a 1,000mg dose with me to work in some sort of small container, or just resort to taking a max of 3,000 mg per day(which is most likely PLENTY!). I will update this thread if and when I come up with any interesting or effective ways to make the bulk powder portable. Obviously, I would also be interested in any of you ladies' take on that idea.

I am interested in the extract, but I wanted to try out the bulk powder first. Having used the extract, I have a few of questions for you, if you don't mind?

Are you using the St. Herbs brand, and have you tried any others?

Do you have perhaps a rough estimate of how many drops of extract you are getting out of a bottle, and what size/price bottles have you tried?

Is there any way you might be able to equate your experiences on dried herb(pills or bulk powder, either one) vs. the extract regarding effectiveness, etc?

(My apologies for the multiple posts, but I knew I might start to ramble and didn't want to do the multi-quote thing due to the length of the post it would have created.) Big Grin

P.S. There is no way I could afford such a huge down payment on that amount of extract, despite how committed I think I am to this! haha Also, the link you provided states that it is for use in formulating cosmetics, etc and not for oral consumption. Thoughts?

Maybe you could mix the pm powder beforehand in a water bottle or something and take that to work with you? Otherwise you could try filling capsules on your own. If all else fails, I suppose you could buy the powder and capsules, using the capsules only when it's not convenient to use the powder.

You could also by an encapsulator and make a few capsules for whenever you need them. I haven't been able to decide if it's worth it for me, but it's not that expensive: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&q=capsule+maker&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&biw=1280&bih=584&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1550330548843388984&sa=X&ei=rpxaUOjIHcKu0AHF3YH4Bg&ved=0CIsBEPMCMAM

I bought the canister of Ainterol PM, too (I got the R1 version - must be ~ twice as strong). After I tried all kinds of other herbs and saying that PM was just too expensive. Then I saw that Ainterol powder deal and bought the powder. Turns out it would've been MUCH cheaper to just start with the PM powder to begin with than mess around with all the other herbs (even though they worked somewhat).

I had initially intended to use my capsule machine, since I have about 12,000 empty capsules. 8-O... Big Grin

However, after tasting just the plain pure powder, it's not bad at all. So rather than go though the PITA capsule process, I just use a measuring spoon - 1/4 tsp, twice a day. Using a [cheapie] milligram scale, it turns out to be ~500mg each spoon... Parachuting with some water.
