Increase pm dose to maintain brain rewiring?

#1

Hello everyone.

(This is directed primarily towards those who enjoy a mental benefit from taking pm.)

Yesterday I had the thought it's time to increase my pm dosage to maintain my brain rewiring. This isn't the first time this has happened. Five months ago I had a similar experience and I decided to raise my daily pm dose from 2,000 mg to 2,500 mg solely for the mental benefits. Now I feel like I should raise it again from 2,500 mg to 3,000 mg. I find it hard to rationalize an explanation for this desire. I think the basis for this is a desire for a good mental balance and to curb a sudden reemerging erotic interest in porn and masturbation. The latter was a particularly bothersome reminder of my mental state of affairs prior to taking pm.

I've taken 3,000 mg of pm before, and this time around I know more about how to minimize the risk of side-effects like headaches and backaches.

Has anyone had a similar experience or wish to comment on this?

Dear Flamesabers,

I did previously increase my dosage for "equanimity" up to 3g but had to cut it down and wean off PM as my back pain worsened considerably. I did notice that you appear to have found a way to minimize the back pain and headaches. Is there something you can share as I will be highly appreciative? I have restarted PM and am doing around 500mg a day with a similar amount of aguaje. I would like to get back to the levels I have had before.

Hi Kyria.

Something I found to be helpful with minimizing side-effects is to spread out my pm intake throughout the entire day, instead of taking half in the morning and half at night. Something else I do is apply 1/4 teaspoon of progesterone cream to my lower back area.

Hi there,

I've had both of these problems... I think if you stick to the same dose, you do get used to it. I've started taking a high dose for 3 days a week and a low dose for the other four. By high, I mean 4-5g! Low means 1-2g.

Re: backaches, I've minimised these by making sure I don't take anything after about 8pm, and drink a fair bit afterwards. I've found that 1 pilll seems to last about 3 hours in my system, so this gives it time to reduce before bedtime.

I'm convinced that the stuff collects in the kidneys, a bit like lactic acid in the muscles causes cramps. I have no real basis for this other than a hunch... but it seems to solve the problem!

That sounds like an interesting idea. Do you notice any major shift in mood or other changes as you go from high to low or vice versa?

Taking the same dosage for five months is a good arrangement for me if I can make it work. My concern is having to go higher and higher on the dosage to get the mental benefits. Maybe after taking the same dose for five or six months, taking a week or two of a lower dose (1.5g-2g) would help keep the effective pm dose at a reasonable amount for me?

Not major, really, apart from keeping myself mentally straight. As I said, I have this feeling my body gets used to a particular dose... I suppose it's like drug tolerance. The problem with your suggestion is that if you go for a long period, e.g. 5 months and suddenly drop the level for an extended period, I feel that that will more likely hit the negative effects than the four day period that I use. It seems to work for me, and it so happens that my week divides quite nicely into a 3/4 day routine.

Why do you think that the same dosage for 5 months is a good arrangement? If it is a question of growth, I have been getting more growth over this 3 high/ 4 low than I did before... of course everyone's different.

It's a matter of simplicity. So far it has worked for me in terms of breast growth. It's the mental benefits area that I want to tinker with. How has your 3 high/4 low plan worked in regards to brain rewiring?

How do you pick a specific dose for the high days and low days? For example, would this look like a typical week for you:

Sunday: 5g
Monday 4.5g
Tuesday: 4g
Wednesday: 2g
Thursday: 1.5g
Friday 1g
Saturday 1.5g?

With a schedule like this my weekly pm intake will be about the same. I guess I can try it out next week. I'll give it some time to see how it works out.

I take 5g/day Tue-Thu, and 2g/day Fri-Mon, so that 15 +8 = 23g /week. That's quite close to your proposed 21g/wk (7 x 3g), which is open to tweaking, e.g. 4.5x3 + 1.5x4 = 19.5... etc.

I used to find that I needed around 3g /day but I did get used to it.

This regime certainly keeps me happy, not least because the higher dose causes them to become much more sensitive to stimulation and funnily enough I don't have a problem with that, as opposed to being at the mercy of the other kind!

Thank you for your clarification on this matter.

I don't experience back pain from estro dominance, but that may be what's been causing my headaches and mirgaines lately (even though I'm using PC more than directed!) I might try stretching out my doses throughout the day! I just have trouble remembering to take my mid-day doses of anything, but maybe if I'm including my breast pills, I'll be more motivated to remember (usually the biggest problem for me is that I rarely eat, especially in the middle of the day. I eat lunch when I take my morning pills, and then usually don't eat again until a late dinner...)

I'll try it I guess and see how it goes. I think as far as you worrying about adapting to high doses of PM, dropping down for a while and then switching your doses up every few days would definitely help, as bryony suggested. I've worried this entire time about adapting too much to my NBE and having to increase the dose. That's actually one of the reasons I switched from my successful FG/RC to PM, just to prevent my body from becoming too accustomed, and to keep myself from plateauing (unfortunately, until I find a good PM dose, I HAVE plateaued...)
