Testicular Pain (again)

#1

Hello,

Been here for a while and I thought I make my first post today.

I just started PM today! I'm planning on keeping it on very low dose as I'm more after the mental, emotional effects and would like to see the physical results in longer term. So, my plan is to stay on 500mg PM/day and two spearmint tea/day.

A bit of back ground: two years ago I started taking estrogens for about two weeks and I started having very bad testicular pain which stayed with me for months. I've been to doctors and they all said everything is normal. So, eventually the pain was gone and I didn't experience it for more than a year.
Today, a few hours after taking my first ever PM I'm experiencing similar pain in my tasties!!! I know a few have experienced the pain in the past but is this normal to have it on the first day?

Thanks,
Katie

The first thing that comes to my mind is, does it turn you on to be taking PM or have you interrupted your normal routine of "build and release" in conjunction with starting PM and spearmint? You don't have to answer publicly but if some or all of that is true for you, it explain your pain. It's also known as (pardon me) blue balls. When you deny yourself, there are three hormones (can only remember Oxycontin at the moment) that get out of normal ranges and can cause the above mentioned discomfort. It will take a while for your body to adjust to the new normal. The only other possibility I can think of is, as you suspect, simply the estrogen (PM) and reduced levels of testosterone. If that's the case, it will likely pass with time, again, as your body adjusts to the new hormone levels. I experienced it when I started but since the initial episode, never again. Since you had it checked out previously, personally, I wouldn't be too worried however, as you know, none of us are doctors and even if we were, we couldn't diagnose you using this forum. When in doubt, get professional advise.

By the way, welcome to the conversation. It's nice to have you join in!

Hi Kari,

Thanks for the reply. Although I have a very high libido at the moment, I'm sure its not blue balls. I haven't interrupted my normal routine either.
I had less pain this morning and since the pain is manageable, I'm going to carry on for a few more days and see what happens.

BTW, I'm traveling this weekend and have to skip a day or two. Should I carry on as normal when I'm back or should I make up for the ones I missed.

Thanks,
Katie

Personally, I'd just carry on as normal when you get back rather than taking a higher dose to "catch up". I see nothing wrong with breaks (big or small) and or slight variations in dose. Some even advocate scheduled breaks to emulate a female cycle. Have fun on your trip!

Thank you,

Just to update the pain only lasted a day! I was really worried as when I was on E the pain lasted for months!!!!
I've been on 500mg/d for the past four days and already feel its doing its magic.

Glad to hear things are better. I had that pain when I took the Solgar PM and by the numbers that was less than 500 a day and they did ache. I have been on Ainterol PM for 3 weeks of 2000/day and not had any issues. Good luck...
