That was my program until yesterday and I am currently on a detox at the request of my Dr.

She wants a hormone panel in a week before sending me to an endocrinologist and requested no herbs beforehand. (She would actual prefer no herbs period, but I have not agreed to that yet. She is concerned that they may interfere with a prescription medicine I am on.)

So, it’s no herbs until the blood test.

I have only been on the program for about 6 weeks and I can’t help feeling it is a significant step backwards. I have been feeling pretty negative the last 24 hours.

Five days into the detox and I think I shrank a little, maybe half an inch.

The main thing I have noticed is my lungs being crappy. While on the WP/FG I needed no meds for asthma. I had to use an inhaler today for the first time in a couple of months.

Nipple sensitivity has reduced a lot although I am keeping up the binaurals and that does seem to bring it back for a short period.

The discomfort in the testes is also gone, so I guess the T/DHT is ramping back up

4 more days to blood test and then I can start again.

I have found a shop in my area that sells herbal extracts including Peony (not sure if it is WP yet), and Fenugreek as well as lots of others. I am thinking of using an extract instead of caps.

Price by weight is a bit less than the powder capsules I have been taking (for 100ml of extract) and large quantities are pretty economical (converting to US$, it would be about 60 bucks for 500ml for 1:1 extracts).

Sadly they don't have PM. In this country PM has not been approved for sale for consumption. You can only buy it in creams.

Across bust is down from 48.5" to 48"

Your observation about your asthma is interesting. You might consider a separate thread just on that.

@MichelleM - Thankyou for your kind words. I got through it and I feel I am back on track now. Maybe it is the placebo effect, but I am breathing easier already.

My blood test was a little confronting (I am generally a shy introvert with low self confidence). The pathology form from the Dr said hormone profile prior to GRS (ie. Gender Reassignment). I assume the receptionist and the technician at the path lab both knew what that meant. Neither said anything about it and the technician was smiling and friendly as she collected the blood.

From there it was a quick trip to McDonalds to get breakfast and take my first WP and FG in 10 days.

Staying with caps at present, but planning to go to extract as soon as I can get to the herbal store.

I wen to the herbal store yesterday and purchased my mixture.

3/4 WP Extract (1:1)
1/4 FG Extract (1:1)

I am planning to take 4mls in the evening and take the caps that I have left in the morning.

4mls is a lot to hold in the mouth for any length of time. Should I take it it in 2ml lots 5 mins apart or something? How long do people hold before swallowing?

I can't do a sublingual dose of WP, the alcohol burn is too extreme for me lol (I'll add WP to 1/4 cup of water).

I think I am going to try holding it for a little bit and swallow when I have to. That way some will line the mouth and get directly absorbed.

I got my bloods back for when I was detoxing

FSH: 3 IU/L
LH: 2 IU/L (bottom of normal range)
Prolactin: 190 mIU/L
Oestradiol: 124 pmol/L (almost top of normal range [130 is top])
T: 14 nmol / L
SHBG: 35 nmol/L
Calc Free T: 270 pmol/L
FAI: 40
DHEAS: 4 umol/L

Not sure what it all means really. I have high-ish E for a genetic male, but then I think E has a 4.5 day half life and I was only off WP for 9 days.

Is the LH significant?

Anyhow, next step is seeing an endo some time next week.

I saw the endocrinologist this week. While she is very nice, there are guidelines it appears she must follow.

I have to have a psychiatric evaluation before she can go further. I am hoping I can get it done in one session as it is 4 hour bus trip each way to the one that specialises in GD. Fortunately I don't have to wait too long as he has an opening at the end of next week.

Assuming all is ok, I go back to her at the end of June. She is talking Oestrogen patches and either siterone or spiro as the AA.

This trip is pushing some of my buttons and I can feel my anxiety levels increasing. It is going to be a stressful week.

I have had high levels of anxiety before. I don't want to go back there.

I have gone back to caps rather than extract for FG and WP as the extract does not seem to be as effective.

I have just cycled in PC for the last week. Apparently, it also works as a mood stabiliser which is something I can vouch for. I was not not sure I was going to able to hold it together in the last week with the stress of my impending psych evaluation.

On that, I am still in a holding pattern on HRT. My first appointment for the psych evaluation ran out of time, so I need a follow on. Isn't always the way, the more desperately you want something, the more hurdles you have to jump.

Still, it will be just a few weeks before I am jumping for joy or screaming in anguish.
