The actual nipple hurts, or behind the nipple hurts? Behind, yes, that happens as you develop. For me while on my herbs it was always there, an accidental bump here or there and I would almost yelp! If you're actual nipple is hurting, I'm not sure about that, mine are just über sensitive but not painful. Now if you really mean your nipples are black and blue, I would say that does not sound right!
