Cimetidine as an anti-androgen

#1

Is cimetidine a safe option to use as an anti-androgen. How quickly does it start to work and how well does it work?

A little necrothread reanimation if the mods don't dislike it too much...

I'm new here, interested in breast growth (obviously)- as stated in my introduction thread, I'm focusing (for now) on ways to enhance my breasts (I already have at the least pseudogyne- I go back and forth on whether the tissue on my moobies are of a different texture than the fat I keep elsewhither) on the down low.  Although I admit to being really wooed by the idea of sneaking some estrogen/progesterone creams into the house.

But while on the DL still just trying to nudge myself into full-blown gyne using products 'for other purposes'...

Cimetidine.

I have bad acid reflux.  I've been taking omeprazole for time out of mind.  And I'm thinking well wouldn't this be a win-win- give myself a rest from PPIs, and possibly enhance the future girls.

I know cimetidine runs a better chance of triggering some gyne than the other H2 receptor antagonists and PPIs such as omeprazole.  So plenty of reason to switch for a while.

But, safety.  Has anyone used it in conjunction with say, White Peony?  I just started on WP capsules, and understand that you have to be careful with WP and things like warfarin.  Ditto when taking cimetidine.  Have to be careful that it doesn't put a prescription anti-coagulant on overdrive.  Which I'm not taking.  But does anyone know or have heard that WP and cimetidine don't play well together?  Or perhaps I should just not worry about the WP while on the tagamet regimen.

Cimetidine has a ton of drug interactions, fortunately I'm not taking anything prescription at this time.  All I'm taking is a stomach acid reducer (currently omeprazole), melatonin, magnesium, saw palmetto, white peony, hops.  And liberally massaging my chest with tea tree and lavender oils.  Thinking about adding fenugreek and possibly flax and fennel, but not there yet.  I reckon I'm a bit hypochondriac but have family stroke out on you with a massive brain bleed, and you get a little nervous about too much anticoagulation...

There's a ton of information available online about Cimetidine through a Google search in regards to it acting as an anti-androgen. I don't think there's any interaction with WP.

I took Cimetidine fairly regularly about five+ years ago. Many of the studies I read showed a high degree of Leydig Cell apoptosis. (It can kill your balls). These studies were conducted with doctor prescribed doses of 800-1,600mg a day. Cimetidine also activates Prolactine, as well.

There's a fair amount of research that Lotus has posted in the Project-X thread. Just do a keyword search at the bottom of the page in the Project-X thread for any subject that you're interested in.

One thing I noticed when I was on a mid-high daily dose was that my entire package would shrink in a matter of days. I did see a temporary boobie boost due to elevated prolactin levels, but really not much more.

Lotus highlights some of the risks of long term use of Cimetidine therapy in the Project-X thread. Plus, there's a shitload of studies posted online if you google specific terms along with Cimetidine.

When it was approved as an OTC drug in the late 70s it was seen as a miracle cure breakthrough in the press. Yet, they knew the danger of Leydig Cell apoptosis even back then! That always gets me that they approved it for use by the general public.

Didn't know about the testicular misbehaving, thanks for the heads up, but I'm not taking it at that high a dosage. Taking it at the OTC dose twice a day. PPIs have some potential long term issues that would be worse than the Leydig cell thing. Even if they are considered safer. I'm not going overboard on this, it's just if I have to take something, why not something that might help push me over the edge into gyne? Or more gyne - I like to fancy there's a difference in the tissue under the general vicinity of my nips, but it's going to be mostly fat.

In either case I'll take cimetidine a while, assuming my stomach doesn't eat me alive in spite of it, then switch back to PPIs- even without the potential for ill effects, the body can apparently get acclimated to the class of drugs cimetidine is in. So swapping things up seems inevitable.

200mg shouldn't be a problem. Try 4% Apple Cider Vinegar diluted in water for stomach issues. I use White House brand in my homemade salad dressings, too.

Thanks, I appreciate that.  I just might have to.

I also need to lose weight- eventually.  Right now, I'm trying to positively visualise all that adipose cranking out aromatase.  Little letter 'T's sinking through fat cells and coming out the bottom as little letter 'E's...

Without going overboard on the cimetidine- because again, I'm not actually using it as an anti-androgen, I'm using it as an acid reducer- I'm trying to get reassurance/confirmation in my reading online that there's no difference (why would there be) between OTC and prescription formulations, save dosage, and confirm that I could crank the dosage up to say three times a day with the 200mg.  Or not- right now the cimetidine hasn't kicked in against some wicked omeprazole 'why haven't you taken me?' revenge.  If it continues, I'll be forced back to the PPI- but also in all this, in the back of my mind I keep thinking that if I'm fortunate, some time on the H2 antagonist might let me get off the PPI dragon-tail.  Omeprazole, for those who haven't taken it, is like the nasal spray decongestant of heartburn medicine.  Once you start using it, it's a right bitch to stop without suffering a while.

And again, since I'm using things that have a valid use other than trying to trigger breast growth, I've got some fennel supplements on the way for 'digestive health'.  Hoping that helps also.  In the light of that, the apple cider vinegar sounds like something I also want to try.

An update.

I've added the cimetidine to my daily routine, as an evening acid reducer- I found literature and doctor advice online on taking a PPI in the morning, and a H2 antagonist in the evening. That provides protection from acid effects overnights. Ofc everything I read involved alternate 'dines' and not cimetidine, but as I find no contradictions for omeprazole/cimetidine, cimetidine it is, since it's just one more little thing to act against testosterone.
