Importing HRT into the UK

#11

The advantage of doing it during Black Friday is that the custom is probably busier with other stuff, and importing meds may fly under the radar.

Anyway, my parcel has been in the mail for 5 days so far and it' sin transit (nobody knows how) between Vanuatu and the UK. Inhousepharmacy uses a tracking system that is compatible with Royal Mail, so as soon as the package lands in the UK, I should be able to track it and receive an update.

Good point Shirazmn,
I'd be very interested in how long it takes to get your package and how easy it was. I've ordered stuff from outside the UK regularly, but it's always been more main-stream companies that take credit cards, so I'm somewhat nervous of having to use wire/bank transfers or crypto currencies; currently reading everything I can on the subject...

Unexpectedly, it has already arrived today!!! No custom to pay, just a signature to leave.
So, that's about 10 days in total since the order, which is lightning fast considering that it comes from the other side of the planet.

This is how the whole thing went:
- I bought it and the only 2 payment methods accepted were American Express card or Bank Transfer. I went with Bank Transfer as my AMEX is shared with my wife.
- I paid on a Friday Evening, so the payment reached them last Monday (last week's Monday). I paid the £42 for the gel + about £6 in expenses = more or less £48 for the whole thing (tracked shipping is included)
- They got the payment on Mon and processed the order on Tue. I received tracking info from the Vanuatu mail service and, the next day, an email from Royal Mail saying that they were expecting a package and would email me once they had it.
- 2 days ago (Mon) I received a note from Royal Mail that something woul dbe delivered to me on Wed (today)
- The postman just delivered it and I had to sign the delivery (no custom paper, nothing to pay etc...)

The envelope is a plain white plastic shipping envelope containing an unbranded cardboard box. Inside, there is the original Estogel package with bottle, pump, leaflet, and instructions. It's all in English (made in India). The envelope's custom paper only says "non restricted pharmaceuticals".

I will stop PM today and give the gel a go in about 1 months to see if I have any allergic reaction. If everything goes smoothly, I will start using one pump per day in January.

Thankyou again,
10 days from Vanuatu is pretty impressive, I've had packages from iHerb (and Ainterol) take longer than that.

I've used them four times now and had the same experience, pay in dollars using wire transfer, package arrives within 2-weeks in a plain unmarked box. Just remember to keep your spend below customs level of £140 (do check that to make sure) my orders have been £100~£120 and have never had any issues / stoppages or paid any customs duty either.
Brill service as far as I am concerned.

Note to those who follow:

Some UK banks will only allow money transfers to countries that are on the SWIFT payment system; also some have black-lists, organisations they will refuse transfers, you won't find-out if the recipient is on a black-list until you try to do a transfer. My bank (Nationwide) is proving to be a real pain in the ....  Angry

Took over half an hour and involved at least four members of staff just to find-out about only supporting SWIFT payments.

OK... I must be missing something here.
When I ordered, they gave me a SWIFT/BIC for the bank, plus account number and beneficiary name. These are the 3 standard details needed for an international bank transfer.
If Nationwide has a problem with Vanuatu then I don't know how to help, but from my home banking interface (on Barclays) the payment went smoothly.
Make sure you don't try to do a SEPA payment, as that only works in Europe.

Definitely something missing here.
I'm being told Vanuatu isn't on SWIFT and my bank can't transfer money to them.
It took four staff over half an hour to tell me they couldn't, so it could be they just don't know how.
Sounds like Barclays are more experienced at international business.

Nationwide refused any sort of payment when I tried too, except one where they charged £20 for the privelage, signed up with [Wise] and have used them a couple of times with no problem for transferring money to these 'dodgy' places. The goods have always showed up after a week or two.
